Recording the performance vocal and music tracks
This week some of the older students will have the unique experience of recording their voices for the soundtrack to this year’s performance. Some of our ex-parents came to put down the violin tracks, plus drums and guitars.
Time is of the essence as we move through November
Time is of the essence as we move through November and to the end of the year so I thought I’d put a few dates into this note to clarify what’s happening this month and next.
Getting closer to a full return to school, cyber safety and costumes
We're getting closer to everyone coming back to school, which will be happening after our mid-term break, on Wednesday 3rd November NOT the Friday. What a great day that’ll be!
Welcome back, our recycled piano and staff farewells
Today we welcomed all our preps back to school, in some ways it felt like the start of the year again, but not in others, because they all bravely marched in, eager to get on with it!
Masks, Meet the Graduates and congratulations Noah
Welcome to term 4 everyone. As the term progresses we will learn what options are open to us as regards events, practices etc.

We're counting down to the end of Term 3
It’s now the count down to the end of term 3. A little walk around the school this morning showed me just how well the children have settled into the concept of remote learning at school.
The chickens have moved into the classroom
Our schools are so empty these days, but we’re lucky at Village School because when the children aren’t here, the chickens move in to take their place. We're also constantly trying out new ways to connect with the children and ensure they learn something whether at home or at school, but it isn't easy.
Past students' successes, riding bikes and chook training
Congratulations to Emily Marker and Rhiannon Kelly; bikes and skateboards are the thing during breaks and lunches at lockdown; and training our new chickens to come when called!
Bee garden, mosaics and performance news
Samantha’s group has a "Bee Garden" where they plan to plant every colour of the rainbow and also add some colourful mosaics around the enclosure’s edge to help brighten it up as well. Stay tuned for performance dates updates.
We've started Lockdown Six successfully

Parent-teacher-student interviews, past students with PhD's and performance costumes
It’s now time to contact your teacher and decide if you would like a face-to-face meeting, Also some Covid reminders, updates from past students and organising performance costumes.
Finding the silver lining in lockdown
I can’t wait to come out of lockdown for so many reasons; but if I look at the silver lining, it’s interesting to note some of the educational advantages that have happened because of Covid.
The teachers have seamlessly slipped back into their lockdown routines
One good thing about being in lockdown is having a chance to practice our newly acquired IT skills. The teachers have seamlessly slipped back into their lockdown routines and it’s business as usual.
Have a great start to Term 3
I hope you all had a restful happy time. We’re all geared up to have an exciting and busy term in Term 3, with a new timetable, the sleepover, whole school performance and more.
Virtual open day, sleepover and the performance
Thank you so much to our PnF for organizing this event. Due to lockdown, we have postponed the sleepover until week two of term 3. And I’d really like to have a production meeting with parents interested in helping out with costumes, sets etc.
